The Senior Accountant responsibilities include performing complex accounting needs for the Company and overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying the company's financial transactions and preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Essential Functions

Responsible for the accounting functions associated with general ledger and sub-ledger maintenance, including account reconciliations, journal entries and transactional analysisAssists with the preparation of monthly financial statements and prepares certain month-end journal entries.Performs a flux analysis and documents explanations for significant variances between actual and budgeted amounts.Investigates discrepancies and other areas of concern regarding financial information and recommends corrective actions.Works on special accounting projects as assigned.Provides functional backup for other finance functions as assigned.Possesses strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.Capable of working both independently and in teams, as needed.Willingly provides insight, suggestions, and methods to better the company.Proactively take on other tasks, as needed.Complete tasks accurately and on time.Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related fieldMinimum of 5-10 years of related work experienceKnowledge of accepted accounting practices and principlesExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processHands-on experience with accounting software packagesExperience with construction accounting and service accounting preferredFamiliarity with financial accounting statementsAttention to detail and accuracyStrong Communication skillsProven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detailAbility to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externallySelf-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environmentPhysical Demands and Working Environment

Approximately 90% of duties performed are in a seated position. The employee must reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
