You will be part of a global inspection team assuring the quality of components and assemblies. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA's operations center based on client needs and each supplier's production.

Responsibilities:You will be conducting precise mechanical inspections at the client-supplier sitesPerform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials. May include but is not limited to purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications/drawingsUtilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs)Approve or reject items and document inspection results as requiredPerform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirementsCommunicate with internal customers, and suppliers as required to resolve inspection discrepanciesPerform surface plate inspection of the first article, in-process, and lot sample parts if requiredUse an electronic enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to route parts and components to proper departmentsQualifications:

4+ years of hands-on inspection experience with precision machined partsKnowledge and hands-on experience working with various inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.)GD&T experience is requiredCMM experience (but not necessarily CMM programming experience).CMM programming experience is a plusNote: Mechanical inspectors at this level are capable of validating dimensions (total tolerances >/=.005" with Minimal GD&T validation) utilizing standard hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gages)Requirements:

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.Must be willing to undergo background

$30 - $32 an hour

Hourly rate while on site or working remotely (i.e. completing or modifying reports)

Minimum 4 hours per day if deployed (i.e. "4 hour minimum")

50% hourly rate for any travel time (i.e. "p2p")

Mileage reimbursement at US gov't rate ($0.655 per mile driven). Untaxed.
