The

Commercial Banker

is responsible for developing and managing a loan portfolio with total commercial assets of $25MM to $50MM that meets established lending requirements and provides maximum profitability to the bank with minimum risk. This position will work closely with the financial institution's broader lending and credit teams, compliance team, and operations. This position may also provider leadership and direction to subordinate commercial lenders. The successful candidate must possess strong communication and leadership skills and a propensity for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.

Identifies and establishes relationships with new lending clients while building and managing the associated loan portfolioDevotes a significant amount of time to new business developmentAnalyzes potential loan markets to find opportunities to promote loans and financial services.Interviews clients and collects and analyzes financial and related data to determine the general credit-worthiness of the prospects and merits of the specific loan requests.Analyzes, establishes and negotiates the terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method and schedule, and collateral payments.After evaluating the creditworthiness of a particular lending opportunity, makes decisions on loans and terms within established lending limits, or makes recommendations to a supervisor and/or the loan approval committee.Counsels applicants on loan repayments policies and restrictions.Monitors loan status, including repayment activities, and takes action to collect from past due accounts when necessary.May provide leadership and direction for other commercial bankers, with responsibility for financial, loan, and deposit performance, as well as growth, risk control, and profit performance.Develops materials for and makes loan presentations to the Loan Officers Committee and the Director's Loan Committee, as required.Participates in community events and activities to increase the bank's visibility and to uncover new business opportunities.Develops and executes special projects as required.Performs other related duties as assigned.Key Competency Requirements
