Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing Shift: days, nights Employment Type: Staff Come join our team We are seeking a part- time, Registered Nurse to join our team on the Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital/ Inova Schar Heart and Vascular. 2 x 12-hour shifts D/N Rotation (WEEKENDS ONLY). Our patient population primarily consists of cardiovascular (CV) surgery patients including, but not limited to: coronary artery bypass (CABG), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), mitra-clips, thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR), and various thoracic surgery patients. Key characteristics of our unit include: Bi-weekly multidisciplinary education sessions, entirely private patient care rooms, competitive nurse to patient ratios with 3-4:1 for both day and night shift, highly trained resource and charge nurses proving support on every shift, highly involved management team consisting of clinical director, unit supervisors, and patient care navigator providing consistent training and education and ensuring robust support. We are looking for nurses that have the following qualities: Passion for Nursing Care Positivity Willingness to Learn Excellent Communication Skills Autonomy Critical Thinking Schedule: 2 x 12-hours, Rotating (Days/Nights) - WEEKENDS ONLY Requirements: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required and ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within first 3 months) Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement: - Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.
