per hourType : Full-Time, Non-exemptPosition ObjectiveThe Packaging Associate is principally responsible for engaging in the full range of operations of the regulated cannabis manufacturing production facility to ensure the precision and compliance of packaging and labeling processes. Our production departments operate as a fast-paced work environment that requires attention to detail. As a Packaging Associate, the work performed by the employee shall be under the primary supervision of either the Processing, Packaging or Preroll Production Supervisor, depending on the department to which each Packaging Associate is assigned.Essential FunctionsManufacturing Operations (40%)Accurately weigh, measure, and package cannabis products, including (but not limited to) infused-edibles, prerolls and vapes.Operate automated equipment in production of vape cartridges or preroll production, depending on the department assigned.Understand the daily production goals by SKU and work diligently with team members to accomplish daily production goals for the department.Apply appropriate labeling in adherence to product information, testing results, and regulatory requirements.Maintain accurate, timely and detailed records of weight, product count, and any relevant issues.Organize and prepare bins for storage, ensuring product freshness and accessibility.Collaborate with production teams within the facility to address any discrepancies and improve packaging processes.

Documentation and Quality Assurance (30%)Perform quality checks against the product specification sheet prior to a production run for each SKU to ensure the correct materials are being used during the production run.Perform visual inspections to ensure real-time product consistency, accurate labeling, and product counts.Conduct inventory checks upon product receipt and distribution, maintaining precise record-keeping.Safely handle waste material in compliance with state regulations and company policies.Continuously monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the packaging area.Accurately complete all daily reporting sampling and paperwork in established data systems.Operate a variety of weighing, batching, and packaging machinery, ensuring their proper function.Clean and sanitize equipment, containers, and work areas following standard operating procedures.Proactively perform equipment maintenance tasks to optimize operational efficiency.Assist in maintaining a clean and well-stocked work environment to support a productive workflow.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify equipment-related issues and recommend improvements.

Communication and Safety (30%)Take instructions and follow directions as delegated by leadership to meet production and quality standards.Communicate effectively with management and co-workers on a professional basis.Maintain a clean and organized work environment.Strive to solve problems and complete repairs with minimal impact to processing.Follow all safety practices and address safety concerns with team members.

Please note that the percentage allocation is a general estimate and may vary based on business needs and priorities.Education and ExperienceMust be at least 21 years of age.High School Diploma or GED.Proven ability to work with little to no supervision and be able to follow directions precisely.Must be mechanically inclined with an aptitude for operating complex machinery.

A Plus, but Not RequiredPackaging and inventory experience.Production experience within the regulated cannabis industry.Posses knowledge and practical experience in safety protocols, GMP best-practices and OSHA regulations within a manufacturing environment, emphasizing a commitment to a secure and compliance workplace.Additional relevant certifications or training.

Working Conditions

(Schedule, Environment, Travel)This position is held within a highly compliant and secured regulated, licensed cannabis manufacturing facility.Possess a high level of multitasking in a fast-paced work environmentMust be able to lift a 50-pound load and carry it for 50 feet repeatedly.Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods at a time.Willing to perform additional duties as necessary to maintain a compliant, clean, safe, and inviting environment for our team members and customers supporting all licensed activities is required.Schedule will vary depending on the needs of the business (nights, weekends, and some holidays may be included).Close visual acuity required for reading fine print on product labels and equipment screens.Overtime may be necessary based on business needs including evening shifts, night shifts, weekend shifts, and occasional shifts on holidays.
