POSITION DESCRIPTION (PURPOSE/FUNCTION):The Quality Assurance Inspector will provide inspection support during all phases of hardware development, including design, fabrication and testing, in order to ensure compliance with established requirements and standards. Inspection services will be conducted from receipt of parts and materials through delivery of finished products. Inspection services will be conducted on mechanical parts, soft-goods assemblies and other products, including electrical and electronic assemblies. The Quality Assurance Inspector will also record non-conformances and participate in the development and execution of corrective actions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:•Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and comply with all applicable safety laws and all Company safety policies and rules; must report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.•Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies and procedures•Maintain regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the Company•Complete all assigned training•Comply with all applicable KBR policies, procedures, and work instructions.•Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and personal information to which access has been granted.•Positively represent HHPC and KBR at all times through a success-oriented and professional demeanor.•Perform detailed inspection of space flight hardware and ground support hardware and software.•Support qualification testing of space flight hardware and ground support hardware and software.•Support internal drawing reviews for space flight hardware and ground support hardware and software.•Support design reviews of space flight hardware and ground support hardware and software.•Support Test Readiness Reviews of space flight hardware and ground support hardware and software.•Support pre-delivery, and pre-installation acceptance testing of space flight hardware and ground support hardware and software.•Perform source inspections at outside suppliers.•Provide quality assurance support at remote locations (vendors, suppliers, testing facilities) in support of product requirements verification and compliance.•Provide informal quality assurance support for the development of prototype, engineering, and development units.•Conduct periodic inspections of all flight fabrication areas. Verify conditions in the flight fabrication areas comply with all applicable requirements.•Work with internal customers to resolve issues documented in the QA Discrepancy Reporting System.•Work with NASA/DCMA contract surveillance representatives to coordinate verification of Government Mandatory Inspection Points (GMIP).•Proactively maintain required training and certification required to conduct quality assurance inspections.•Promote and implement process improvements as needed. Work with QA management and Quality Management System personnel to update existing work instructions to reflect improvements and create new work instructions where appropriate.•Maintain knowledge and understanding of all applicable processes and work instructions and adhere to them.•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable industry standards, guidelines, technology trends and project management methods. Stay abreast of industry best practices for Property and Logistics Management policies, procedures and technology. Incorporate enhancements as needed/practical.•Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customers, stakeholders, vendors and employees.•Proactively identify and resolve issues. Ensure resolution of project, customer and personnel issues in consultation with the HHPC Program Management Office (PMO) and the HHPC Operations Manager.•Assist Quality Engineering and Flight Receiving Inspection personnel as needed.•Provide periodic written status reports of Quality Assurance Inspection work activities to the HHPC Quality Assurance Manager.•Ensure that deliverables meet all applicable KBR and NASA quality standards.•Perform additional duties as needed, which may occasionally require work on weekends and/or evenings, sometimes with little to no advance notice.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEREQUIRED: (must correspond with description listed on the Composite Rates and Skills Table)•High school diploma plus 4 years of experience working in a quality assurance inspection environment, or equivalent applicable experience.•Current inspection certification in IPC J-STD-001 with Space Addendum Requirement for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies.•Current inspection certification in NASA-STD-8739.4 Workmanship Standard for Crimping, Interconnecting Cables, Harnesses and Wiring.•Current inspection certification in NASA-STD-8739.1 for Polymeric Application on Electronic Assemblies.•Current NASA/RITF certification in Electrostatic Discharge Level 2

DESIRED:•A minimum of 3 years' experience working in NASA/Government related inspection work.•Previous experience in property and logistics management for engineering/manufacturing operations.•Previous experience in property and logistics management for NASA, or other Federal Government Agency.

DESIRED:•Experience with dimensional inspection of fabricated hardware utilizing manual mechanical inspection techniques.•Experience with dimensional inspection of fabricated hardware utilizing coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspection techniques.

This position is subject to the Service Contract Act ("SCA") and your pay and benefits comply with the Area-Wide Wage Determination ("AWD") applicable to the contract. This position will pay no less than the amount included in the AWD for the corresponding labor category. Additionally, this position will be eligible to receive the Health and Welfare Benefit included in the AWD, less the cost of certain benefits, including retirement.
