INTERNAL AUDITOR I - 113

JOB SUMMARY:

The Internal Auditor I position provides a support service to QI and ensure regulatory compliance through the monitoring of center documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES :Assist the Center in reducing or eliminating audit paybacks for Medicaid, State and Private funded servicesEnsure compliance with funding requirements and accreditation standards as they relate to consumer records and documentation.The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.The ability to work collaboratively with others and to accept constructive criticism from supervisors and managers.Willingness to abide by the company's published rules and regulationsProcessing of the pending billing data on an ongoing basisAssisting with desk audits as assigned by the Audit SupervisorProcessing and posting of Policies and ProceduresProviding back-up to the QI departmentAssisting with internal and external audits as assigned.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Computer literacy. Ability to maintain good time management, organizational skills and attention to details. Ability to type and enter data accurately. Good verbal and written communication skills and flexibility is vital.

PERSONAL QUALITIES : Alertness, dependability, flexibility, and a pleasant manner are important.

SPECIAL FACTORS:

Must keep up to date on the changing regulations from Medicaid and any of the other agency, contract or managed care requirements as necessary. Ability to maintain a good working relationship with the Outpatient Practice Manager and the various clinical and clerical staff involved in the various internal audit processes.

JUDGMENT/DECISION MAKING : Utilizes established corporate policies and procedures in making decisions. Uses sound judgment in meeting the responsibilities and performing the duties of the position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience :

Minimum of One year in a healthcare office setting requiredExperience with compliance auditing and customer relations preferred.

Driving Requirements:

Must be Over the age of 21 requiredMinimum of 5-years driving experience requiredPossess a Valid FL Driver's license (within 30 days of hire if currently do not possess)Possess a continuously valid US Driver's license for the past three years, from date of issue requiredSafe Driving record required

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT : Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually. Other training and/or professional development may be assigned due to evolution of programs.
