Description

SUMMARY

Build prototype tooling, production dies and other production tooling/fixtures. Performs die maintenance and repair of metal stamping dies and other production tooling/fixtures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.Studies blueprints of die and product, prototype parts, visualizes shape and mechanical structure of production part, and operation of die.Computes dimensions, layout, and assembly operations of sensor and electrical mechanical devices to monitor dimensions.Install and maintain sensors and devices within the die to monitor die positioning and dimensional conformance.Sets up, test and verify conformance of sensors and monitoring devices.Verifies dimensions, clearances, and alignment of inspection devices and parts in die.Works to part print dimensions and tolerances.Conducts root cause analysis and trouble shooting for production tooling and fixtures.Connects wiring and gages to install electric inspection and sensoring devices.Understands and follows all safety rules and environmental procedures in plant.

QUALIFICATIONS

Journeyman Diemaker and/or min 2 years Die Repair experience.COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, die makers, engineers, and production press operators.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, general dimensional and tolerances as it applies to automotive design specifications.REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding of blueprint specifications. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in design specifications.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
