NJ Based Property Management company is looking for a staff accountant to join a growing team.
Job Responsibilities:Maintain and update accounting records for the assigned areasReview and approve accounts payable timely and approve tenant refunds timelyTransfer cash receipts and record bad debt recovery entriesDownload and distribute bank activities to relevant groupsWork closely with the field team to timely resolve receivable and payable issuesAnalyze activity in capital expenditure accountsApply for replacement reserve according to loan agreementsDeposit checks, Prepare W-9s, prepare bank reconciliations, Update AR and AP aging, unapplied cash, bad debt allowance, fixed assetsFollow month end closing calendar, update balance sheet, income statements and rent roll reportsPrepare monthly centralized journal entries and supporting schedules for the assigned accountsRecord journal entries under guidance from senior members on the team with help from senior members on the team, investigate and resolve issues through communication with operations, finance teamsFollow quarter end closing calendar, assist in preparing quarterly financial reports and supplemental schedules, and prepare lender reports, and other required quarterly reports.Perform year end responsibilities and required work papers at year end for annual audits and tax filingRespond to auditor's questionsComplete ad hoc financial projects as required.Requirements:•Bachelor's degree, major in Accounting•Proficiency in Excel required•Salesforce and Yardi software experience a plus•Problem solving and analytical skills.•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.•Strong work ethic focused on meeting deadlines.
