Summary:

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records and general ledger; preparing and analyzing budgets; and performing basic accounting functions related to monthly financial close. This position will work under the supervision of the Accounting Manager and will support operational staff at varying management levels with general accounting and budgeting needs.

Responsibilities:

Continually develop general office automation by using macros, functions, formulas, databases and software available to improve the processesOn a monthly basis, handle the General Accounting responsibilities for assigned department of Neurology, including constructing the monthly financial statement package and related analyses.Act as departmental lead for the assigned departments in working with Operational Management team to develop operating budgets and projections.Provide general financial support and training for financial systems such as Lawson, Hyperion, Smart View and Essbase.Assist with inter-entity transfers to ensure that the transactions are being properly recorded.Develop analytical reports, as requested.Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and proceduresOther duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organizationCredentials:

Education or Equivalent Experience:
