Bulfinch Temporary Service is currently hiring a temporary Dental Assistant for the North End Water Front Health Center. This position is M-F from 7:45-5pm and is temporary in nature and not benefitted. If you are qualified and interested please apply now!o Greets and escorts dental patients to the dental treatment areao Prepares the dental exam room for dental treatment by cleaning and disinfecting treatment areas according to the Health Centers policies and procedures.o Prepares patients for dental treatmento Assists the dentist in the delivery of dental treatment: Performs four handed dentistry. Takes x-rays. Process alginate impressions and pours dental models. Removes temporary cement from crowns and re- cements crowns. Delivers bleaching kit to patientso Performs all infection control duties such as: Cleaning and sterilization of dental instruments according to health center policies and procedureso Stocks dental operatories and maintains dental supplies in treatment areas.o Performs lab procedures such as: Fabrication of bleaching trays and dental modelso Provides individualized patient dental education in oral health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment procedures.o Applies anti-cariogenic agents including fluoride varnisho Places and removes dental damso Cares for dental equipment according to manufacturers instructions and performs its required daily maintenance.o Provides interpreting services if applicable between dental provider and patients as needed
Qualifications:
Ability to assist in fourhanded dentistryWorking knowledge of operative dentistryWorking knowledge of other general dental proceduresAbility to work with small children and elderlyWillingness to learn new procedures and work with others with the departmentKnowledge of Italian/Spanish a plusDental Assistant LicenseBLS
High school diploma, GED or equivalentCertificate: Providers BLSRadiology CertificationMust have at least one year full time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a dental assistant in a recognized dental office, or the successful completion of a training program for dental assistants at a recognized dental schoolAmbulatory health care settingMust be able to walk, stand, stoop, squat and climb stairs.Long periods of standing, sitting and tolerate repetitive motion.Able to hear normal speech.Able to communicate orally and in writing.Requires manual dexterity to use available technology.May be exposed to hazardous materials, infectious materials, body fluids, and toxic, chemicals.Must be able to adapt to patients status and needs.Eye and position strain from computer.
