Job Title: CNC TechnicianClassification: HourlyDepartment: ToolingReports To: Tooling SupervisorPosition: Night Shift
Purpose:Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.General Duties:Verify integrity of data through the confirmation of sign offs on process documentation.Maintain sanctity of the work space through the enforcement of 5s principals.Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.Sets-up mills and lathes by installing tools, attachments, collets, stops, vices, etc.Maintains specifications by observing cutting, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming software.Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements (PM), troubleshooting minor maintenance issues, and calling for repairs.Accomplishes departmental goals by taking ownership of the machining process.Skills:
Required Education & Experience:
Associate's Degree in machining or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.High School Diploma or GED
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and complete work on schedule.Follow Supervisors/Foreman direction while displaying cooperative and positive behavior with co-workers.Ability to develop and execute a detailed daily plan.Strong Problems solving skills and efficient management of time and resources.
Preferred:
Prior experience in metals manufacturing environment.(3-5) Years past experience in machining or related field.Previous CNC experience (operation/programming).Physical Requirements:
Sit/Stand/Walk 8 hrs./dayAbility to lift 75 lbs.
