VCC is an equal opportunity employer.Responsibilities:Provide support to clinicians and patients. Review medication refill requests, complete prior authorizations as needed, consult with clinicians and pharmacists and authorize requests. Facilitate the completion of forms presented by patients to clinician.Submit new and updated prescriptions and refills or deny refills per protocol; act as gatekeeper for confirming Clinicians current ordersPrepare and research information needed for prior authorizations(PAs)/treatment authorization requests (TARs) for medication refills; work with referral coordinators on tracking PAs and TARs, including those for formularyCapably review the EHR of a patient to discern information needed in the course of any patient care management protocol or procedureReceive patient phone calls and follow-up on patients needs and/or delegate to appropriate staffReceive phone calls from outside agencies, such as other pharmacies and address callers needs and/or delegate to appropriate staffManage public folders as assigned, follow-up on refills, scan to PAQ, notify clinicians and confirm completion
Qualifications:MinimumHigh school graduate or equivalentCurrent California State Board of Pharmacy Technician LicenseMinimum one year related experiencePreferredBilingual English/SpanishExperience/familiarity with Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records systems, NextGen preferredRequired Skills/Knowledge/AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, clinicians and other staffAbility to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including people of all social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programsExcellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfactionAbility to handle confidential materials and information in a professional mannerExperience/familiarity with computers, business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities; proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and ExcelPay Range$23.50 - $25.50 DOE
