Tool Maker - 1st shift ajcJOB DESCRIPTION: 1st shift: Monday through Friday 7am-3pmESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*Create and repair tools, dies, jigs and fixtures used within the manufacturing process.*Study blueprints, sketches, models or specifications to plan sequence of operations for the tool.*Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gage blocks, micrometers and dial calipers.*Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies based on specifications.*Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify tools using machine tools and hand tools.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:*Must be at least 18 years of age or older.*Enrollment in or certificate from college or technical school required.*Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.*Good verbal and written communication skills.*Excellent attendance and a positive, "can do" attitude.THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS BUT NOT REQUIRED: *Three to five years tool room experience.*Solidworks and/or MasterCAM experience.*CNC programming experience.*One or more years of CNC machine operating experience.
