This job deploys staff and delegates tasks so that staff members can create and maintain a positive experience for our valued customers. The General Manager leads the charge with new products, promotions, specials, events, etc. and is responsible for communicating these things to other staff members. Job Responsibilities:

As the General Manager, you are expected to function as a direct extension of the ownership team, to carry out the mission and vision that is set forth by the ownership team and promote the necessary behaviors and standards to the rest of the staff. The ownership team does not plan to be present for day-to-day operating activities, so it is the expectation that you manage each and every element of the business as if it were your own. You should also feel comfortable to contact ownership for support whenever needed. The General Manager will be empowered to make necessary decisions to ensure that the long-term goals and objectives of The Boozy Mutt are achieved. The General Manager will be responsible for all elements of the business including but not limited to:

Culture & Staffing:•Understanding and exemplifying the mission and vision that is set forth by ownership for The Boozy Mutt•Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of The Boozy Mutt•Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.•Building a collaborative, hardworking, fun culture for employees. Our goal is to have all feel a sense of community and belonging.•Ensure compliance with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.•Continually strive to develop staff in all areas of managerial and professional development.•Developing and sustaining a culture of excellent hospitality, consistency, and customer service•Creating functional plan for how the business operates when you cannot be present (strong SOP writing skills are a must)

HR:•Schedule staff hours and assign duties.•Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service.•Administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.•Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.•Hiring/firing decisions, payroll management, ensuring all labor laws are followed, etc.•Building weekly schedule ensuring that the schedule is posted at least 7-10 days in advance out of respect for staff.•Conducting team trainings, coaching sessions, and 1:1 meetings; identifying training needs for specific employees and working with employees to help them achieve their long term goals. We want to develop our people and help them achieve their goals just as we want to achieve ours.

Planning & Budgeting:•Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.•Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.•Count money and make bank deposits.•Review financial statements, sales or activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.•Monitor budgets and payroll records, and review financial transactions to ensure that expenditures are authorized and budgeted.•Plan menus and food utilization, based on anticipated number of guests, nutritional value, palatability, popularity, and costs.•Review menus and analyze recipes to determine labor and overhead costs, and assign prices to menu items.•Analyze sales reports to determine which menu items need to be eliminated or modified.•Work with Ownership to optimize retail store product mix and display. Proactively make orders given long lead times for merchandise depending on the time of the year. Manage merchandise inventory for both online and in person retail store.•Estimate food, liquor, wine, and other beverage consumption to anticipate amounts to be purchased or requisitioned.•Achieving necessary revenue and cost targets•Maintaining MarginEdge software which tracks invoices and COGS

Service Standards:•Ensure that all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs and followed and completed on a timely basis.•Cultivating the bar menu, product sourcing, and pricing strategy - inclusive of both human and dog options•Assisting the chef with the creation of the food menu, pricing strategy, and product sourcing - inclusive of both human and dog options•Building our dog menu for daily operations and private events, as well as canine product strategy (we expect this may be a first for you but we are all in this together!)•Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance.•Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.•Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.•Coordinate assignments of cooking personnel to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation.•Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant's receiving policies and procedures.•Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity.•Maintain food and equipment inventories, and keep inventory records.•Perform some food preparation or service tasks, such as cooking, clearing tables, and serving food and drinks when necessary.•Keep records required by government agencies regarding sanitation or food subsidies.•Test cooked food by tasting and smelling it to ensure palatability and flavor conformity•Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, or safety.•Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant.•Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.•Monitor employee and guest activities to ensure liquor regulations are obeyed.•Schedule use of facilities or catering services for private parties and negotiate details of arrangements with clients.•Develop, plan, and implement restaurant marketing, advertising and promotional activities and campaigns.•Developing and modifying the menu and product offerings along with pricing strategy as needed to maintain margin targets and meeting client needs•Maintaining POS systems and inventory management•Optimizing product sourcing strategy•Work with owners to setup retail store to maximize consumer purchases and present merchandise in a fun and creative manner to draw in the eye.•Coordination and planning of special events and promotions.•Developing/Providing recommendations for social media strategy and management, including other marketing methods

Safety & Maintenance:•Ensure that all equipment, tools, and facilities undergo proper maintenance, cleaning, and repairs to maximize lifespan.•Coordinate a variety of services, such as waste removal, pest control, etc.•Writing, Enforcing, and adjusting SOPs as needed•Ensuring that all employees, customers, and dogs are safe at all times using strong food safety protocols and workplace safety regulations. This will not be compromised under any circumstances.•Responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing proper cleaning and maintenance schedules for all areas of the bar except for the kitchen which will be the Head Chef's responsibility•Monitors sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.•Inspects supplies, equipment, or work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.

Job Requirements
