2nd Shift Packaging Personnel Worker

As a Packaging Worker at Old Dutch Foods, you will be responsible for packing bags of snacks into containers or cases for shipping while ensuring the highest quality standards. You will monitor packaging equipment, prepare products for packaging, and maintain a clean and safe food environment in compliance with all applicable programs and policies.
Major Job Duties:Neatly pack the correct amount of product, in the correct configuration, into shipping cases, referring to the flip chart on the back of each machine.Continuously check products for proper bag seals, film quality, visual seasoning, code dates, and accurate carton labels.Monitor for damaged products or equipment malfunctions to maintain quality and quantity.Notify the PMO or maintenance team of any deviations for appropriate corrective actions.Make, fold, and place case labels onto shipping cartons/trays.Follow directions from supervisors and inform them of any quality or quantity issues.Be observant to catch coding or packaging imperfections, using sample bags hung on the machine as reference.Push carts of finished products to packaging equipment.Fold flaps of filled cartons and/or strap them shut.Adequately perform all positions to ensure non-stop production.Maintain housekeeping by keeping the work area clear of debris.Inspect and remove unacceptable raw materials or finished products.Follow company rules and policies.Assist Packaging Machine Operators with product changeovers.Perform cleaning tasks including scrubbing, wiping, vacuuming, mopping, and foaming.Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning and set-up for production.Work as a team to complete cleaning duties within established deadlines.Follow written or verbal directions from supervisors.Requirements:Ability to read and follow directions.Communicate effectively to maintain safety and product quality.Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine-paced setting is a plus.Ability to work well with others.Essential Job Functions:
Pack products to company specifications into shipping cases at a pace of up to 65 bags per minute.Count the correct number of bags to be placed in a shipping case.Grasp objects with hands continuously.Reach out with hands and arms continuously and at shoulder level or overhead.Work in small or tight work areas due to equipment positioning.Lift, push, or pull cases, carts, or pallet jacks with a force weight of up to 40 lbs.Bend slightly at the waist or hips for 40 to 50% of the workday.Work cautiously on slippery floors.Work in noisy environments and wear hearing protection as required.See and read information on bags, shipping cases, and quality schedules.Open product bags and determine proper flavor application.Ensure proper sealing of product bags.Perform all packaging tasks and assist with packaging machine changeovers.Complete cleaning tasks at heights using ladders, platforms, or lifts.Use cleaning equipment and chemicals according to SSOP guidelines.Wear provided PPE (rubber boots, aprons, gloves, goggles, face shields, etc.).Maintain cleaning standards within specified deadlines.Work 40 hours a week, five days a week, with potential overtime during the week and Saturdays if needed.Dependable attendance is essential.Stand for the duration of the workday and sit as needed.
