Packaging Operator - 2nd Shift

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Packaging Operator will be responsible for loading and unloading finished products and raw materials for customer's use, operating packaging equipment, as well as other assigned duties. This position is 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM Monday through Friday.

Follows and complies with all appropriate company safety rules and regulations, including but not limited to OSHA, and any and all local, state, or federal agencies to ensure a healthy and safe work environmentFollows all appropriate safety procedures while loading, and unloading productUnload dry sugar railcars for our automated bagging system for 50# and 100 # bagsLoad finished product onto van trailersOperate forklift, tractors, trailers and/or moving railcars using hand jack or forkliftPrepares work orders for major maintenance or repairs to equipmentAbility to recognize emergency situations and implement appropriate responsesMay be required to work flexible hours and be able to work Monday thru Sunday, if neededClean and maintain assigned work areasTurn off equipment when not in useImmediately report any vehicle or equipment defects, accidents, injuries, and vehicle or equipment damageImmediately complete all required accident or incident reportsAssist in cleaning and repairing tasksUse of all types of hand tools (I.E.: railcar bars, railcar vibrator, pneumatic railcar gate opener, shovels, wrenches, etc.)Operates power/air tools and equipment (I.E.: rail car bar, fork lift, etc.)Performs other duties may be assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong safety performance and value for safetyKnowledge of equipment operation and use of toolsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent teamwork skillsFlexibility in accepting change and an attitude of continuous improvementAble to wear protective gear correctly during the work dayProper handling of food grade chemicalsStrong attendance recordWillingness and ability to work afternoon and evening shifts, and weekendsWilling to work in a fast-paced environmentRequired education and experience
High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent in job related experience.Work environment and physical demands

$20.00 per hour plus $2.00 per hour shift differential when working 2nd or 3rd shift.Travel required
The home office for this role is indicated at the top of this job description. Travel to other Ingredients Plus locations may be required as business needs arise.
