Capitol Broadcasting Company is seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our dynamic WRAL-TV team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our technical facilities, with a focus on computer-based systems. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in troubleshooting and problem-solving, and a passion for delivering high-quality results.Responsibilities:
Technical Maintenance:Contribute to the day-to-day technical maintenance of all equipment, including cameras, switchers, audio consoles, graphics systems, and other production equipment.Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Computer Hardware and Software Expertise:Utilize expertise in computer hardware and software to maintain and optimize related systems, including servers and workstations.Install, configure, and troubleshoot software applications.Configure and repair computer hardware, including replacement of parts in desktop, laptop, and rack-mounted servers.Technical Support:Provide technical support to staff during newscast operations.Collaborate with team members to address technical challenges and enhance overall quality.Emerging Technologies:Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.Evaluate and recommend new equipment and technologies to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the facility.Emergency Response:Implement emergency response plans for technical failures or other critical situations.Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and response to urgent technical issues.Documentation:Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.Create and update technical manuals and training materials as needed.7. Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational operations and goals.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of signal flow, and production workflows.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Willingness to stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
