Staff Accountant II, Cost Reporting

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This position provides center level accounting support to ensure department goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with DaVita's Mission and Core Values. This includes accounting for center and divisional revenue review, accounts receivable, cash and related transaction analysis, account reconciliation and preparing financial reports for corporate and field operations management, and joint venture partners, as well as internal and external audit agencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
Accounting:
Monthly center level review to ensure accurate reporting of all revenue and treatment accounts.Monthly review and reconciliation of assigned accounts receivable GL balances.Review patient account transactions prepared in Reimbursement Operations for accuracy and completeness.Other GL functions such as journal entry preparation for accruals and adjustments, account analysis, etc.Reporting / Analytics:
Prepare, develop and modify selected recurring and ad-hoc financial schedules and related notes for management reporting.Create detailed reports to support performance and strategic business initiatives.Provide reporting to identify & interpret revenue trends and explain fluctuations.Prepare communications such as memos, charts, graphs and process documentation.Cost Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of annual and /or interim Medicare cost reports.Assist and perform cost report audits, as well as prepare and support any appeals, correspond and deal effectively with fiscal intermediaries, and other 3rd party agencies to resolve simple disputes, including filing issues, denials, penalty assessments, withholds, etc.Interact with other departments and explain and resolve cost reporting issues.Process Improvement:
Identify efficient and standardized methods for recurring processes and reporting.Collaborate with teammates throughout the village to develop and implement revenue related processes.Identify and investigate data inconsistencies to ensure the integrity of revenue data in the GL.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required.
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) with an emphasis in Business, Accounting or Finance, or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in an accounting or healthcare organization.Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications, and ability to learn new internal systems and tools.Experience with ERP software preferred.Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with ability to probe, question, and listen attentively.Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting functions. Minimum two years of accounting experience.Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business communications.Ability to work with and apply algebra calculations, probability and statistical inference, and concepts such as fractions, ratios, and percentages to practical situations.ESSENTIAL BEHAVIORS, SKILLS, AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN THIS POSITION

Ability to hear and interact by phone and in person.Ability to use computer and all peripherals for extended periods of time.

Salary/ Wage Range$18.50 - $30.00 / hour
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
