The AV Field Specialist is responsible for the successful close-out and handover of AV systems implemented by Tangram Technology's physical installation teams. Primary responsibilities encompass hardware and software configuration, programming and program loading, testing and commissioning, project close-out activities for both consultant and non-consultant led installations, end user training, systems sign-off, and warranty and service contract duties such as troubleshooting/resolving issues and providing technical support to our customers.

Additionally, the AV Field Specialist will provide pre-installation support as needed in the project design, bidding and engineering phases to ensure that proposed/engineered system designs are fully aligned with post-build system activation expectations and preferences.

The AV Field Specialist will work on a diverse range of professional grade AV systems including small room-based installations, complex large/combinable room systems, building or venue-wide systems, and enterprise-wide deployments.

$85,000 - $95,000 a year

The AV Field Specialist's day-to-day duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Equipment and systems configuration, including hardware, software and network configuration as needed.

- Coordination with network management entities to ensure AV-network requirements are provisioned, including partitioned/dedicated networks (both wired and wireless) with necessary performance levels (QoS, bandwidth, latency, etc.), static/dynamic IP address ranges, and so on.

- Programming and/or loading pre-authored code for control, UI, routing and DSP systems. Original code development responsibilities will be limited to the programming abilities and certifications held by the AV Field Specialist. Limited programming duties may also be performed under the direction of a certified programmer or engineer.

- Pre-commissioning testing.

- Developing punch lists and tracking each item to completion.

- Systems tuning to ensure optimized performance.

- Final commissioning of systems to ensure functionality meets design intent and specifications.

- Ensure commissioned systems comply with governing scopes of work and specifications and are ready for sign-off and handover to the customer.

- Performing specified technical close-out tasks to comply with RFP requirements on consultant led projects.

- Performing end user training.

- Assisting with as-built documentation production with respect to provision of configuration settings, source code, etc.

- Supporting warranty and service contract duties including troubleshooting/resolving technical issues, providing technical support to our customers and conducting preventative maintenance support tasks.

- Supporting pre-installation activities including design and engineering reviews as needed to ensure that proposed/engineered system designs are fully aligned with post-build system activation, testing and commissioning requirements.

- Coordinating all activities closely with the Project Manager and Regional Operations Manager.

- Traveling to job sites as required to conduct the above duties.

Qualification Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of experience successfully performing similar AV field specialist/commissioning agent duties for a diverse range of AV system types and complexities.

- Familiarity with AV systems testing and commissioning best practices, standards and documentation.

- Familiarity and experience with the configuration and programming of control systems, in particular solutions from Crestron, QSC and Extron. Entry or advanced level programming certifications for these solutions is a plus. Experience with other control solutions including AMX and Savant is beneficial.

- Familiarity and experience with the configuration and programming of DSP systems, in particular solutions from QSC and Biamp. Entry or advanced level programming certifications for these solutions is a plus. Experience with other DSP solutions including ClearOne is beneficial.

- Familiarity and experience with the configuration of hardware supporting enterprise VC platforms (such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.), in particular solutions from Logitech, Neat, Poly and Crestron. Certifications for these solutions is a plus.

- Experience with other VC solutions including Cisco and Microsoft is beneficial.

- Competent with Windows-based software such as MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.

- Fluency interpreting AV systems drawings and architectural/construction drawing sets.

- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.

- Is well organized, detail oriented, and a problem solver.

- Formal education in Electronics or a related field is preferred.

- AVIXA CTS, CTS-D and/or CTS-I certification holders are preferred.
