Job Description

The Accountant will be responsible for performing general accounting responsibilities, tracking and financial information, and reconciliations work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Assist in tracking and maintaining a log of annual property audited Private Property Manager (PPM)/Owner financial statements and audit confirms on Notes receivable. It includes tracking of audited statements not received or unapproved as well as open Notes Receivable confirms requiring action.

•Prepare invoice/billing to the PPM's for CHA centralized purchases, on behalf of the Special Entities/LLCs/LLPs properties, as well as follow-up on non-payments and tracking. Provide Treasury with coding, upon receipt of funds.

•Assist in Mixed Finance property monthly subsidy and annual reconciliation true-up payments including requisitions and purchase orders related work.

•Assist in posting monthly journal entries, prepare analysis on ledger activities, analyzes various subsidiary accounts to general ledger, and reconcile differences.

•Assist with monthly expense allocations, with accruals, and monthly General Ledger closing procedures.

•Assist in monthly cash and balance sheet account reconciliations and monitor various GL close controls.

•Prepare audit Provided by Client (PBC) schedules, analysis and other documents, for annual audits and quarterly financial reviews, as requested.

•Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

B.S. in Accounting or related field or the equivalent combination of education and related work experience. One to three years of progressive accounting and finance experience. Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting principles. Effective written, verbal, interpersonal and customer service communication skills. Knowledge of analytical techniques and excellent Excel skills.

Salary: $55,000 - $58,000
