We are looking for a Reinsurance Staff Accountant to apply accounting principles to prepare financial reports and analyze financial data. Staff Accountants maintain and execute a variety of financial procedures, including month-end, quarterly and year-end closings, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. This position will also assist with some administrative functions within the Reinsurance Department.
Job Duties
General Ledger journal entries and account analysisMonth end closing and financial reportingBank reconciliationsReconciliations between administrative system and general ledgerCash management and Trust Account tracking/reconciliationPreparation of reinsurance cessions statements and related reconciliationsReview data system to ensure reinsurance tables are established and that all entities are created and documented as neededResearch and follow up on documents necessary for formation of reinsurance companies and bank accountsSpecial Projects as neededJob Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or Associates degree in Accounting
One year work experience preferred
Clear and concise communications skills are required
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Experience working with QuickBooks a plus
Basic understanding of databases
Experience working for an administrative company or an insurance company a plus.
Insurance/Reinsurance Accounting experience a plus
