As the Automatic Screw Machine Setup/Operator you would be responsible for setting up and operating one or more Acme Screw machines.
Duties/Responsibilities- Read blueprints and Job Routings to determine part specifications and order requirements.
- Use gages and other measuring instruments to make sure parts conform to specifications.
- Install collets, pushers, gears, cams, tool holders and any other tooling required to machine part per print specifications.
- Set all tooling as required.
- Verify conformance of first piece production, making sure all dimensions are in conformance with print specifications using proper measuring instruments.
- Tear down set-ups after job is complete.
- Sharpen/replace old tooling if required.
- Inspect parts to make sure they fit print requirements.
- Clean machine and work area daily
Keep area orderly
Floor around machine must be kept free of oil. - Instruct/help co-workers.
- Follow all safety rules and procedures
Report any unsafe condition/action to a supervisor. - Learn and practice preventative maintenance on machinery and tooling to protect from damage and loss
Report any condition requiring repair to the department supervisor.
- Starting pay is $20-$26/hr based on experience.

shift 6:00am 4:30pm, Monday-Thursday. - Availability to work OT on Friday when needed.
- Temp to Hire opportunity with the company.
- 3 years previous experience in setting up and operating Acme Gridley Screw Machines.
- Must have a working knowledge of tooling and attachments; Dovetail forms, floating shave, knee tools, knurling, tapping, thread rolling, accelerated reaming, and recess and pick off attachments.
- Must be able to set up to completion from print and layout, including; cams, gears, attachments, and tooling to finished part.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs independently and stand for up to 10-hour shift.
- Able to read blueprints and use inspection tools
Must be able to do basic math. - Will be subject to a pre-employment screening.
