dynamic and motivated Part-time Skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. This position is for part-time on 2nd shift and the incumbent employee will choose their hours.
For this position, we offer a flexible schedule, competitive pay, and a 401k with a 100% dollar for dollar match on the first 5% you contribute to the 401(k) plan. Team players with a passion for excellence should apply.
Our products are used in space, aviation, marine, hydropower and other industrial applications. As an industry leader we design, test and manufacture the highest performing, self-lubricating, roller element, metal to metal and miniature bearings in the industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Machinist VIMay provide technical supervision, training, set-up, tool adjustment, trouble shooting, etc., support to othersMay act as Team Leader in Team Leader’s absence and demonstrate leadershipIndependently sets up, adjusts, troubleshoots and checks out programsOperates all standard axis (3 Lathe, 4 Mill) numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skillSetups involve familiarity with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations such as milling, boring, recessing, turning, drilling, threading, screw machine operation, etc., to the capacity of the machine and control factorWorks from program, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions, may work from verbal instructions of hand drawingsSelf-sufficient with all aspects of machine set up on machines within their area of responsibility axis (2 Lathe, 3 Mill)
Machinist VIIIndependently set up, adjust, troubleshoot and check programming.
Operate all multi-axis CNC machining centers, 3 or more Lathe and 4 or more Mill, to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skillSetups involve familiarity with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations such as milling, boring, recessing, turning, drilling, threading, screw machine operation, etc., to the capacity of the machine and control factorWork from CNC program, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions, may work from verbal instructions or hand drawingsMay provide technical supervision or training, and set-up, tool adjustment, trouble shooting, etc., support to others.May act as Team Leader in Team Leader’s absence and demonstrate leadership

Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; a Machining Certificate preferredExperience:
Mimimum of five year of machining experience in a manufacturing environment
Able to prescribe an appropriate inspection method based on a wide range of GD&T calloutsProficient in use of shop mathProvide technical supervision/trainingWork independently, no supervisionAbility to troubleshoot programing and process issuesHas working knowledge of the relationship between federate and surface finish, as well as surface speed to material type, of most standard aerospace materialsFamiliar with operating of live tooling and sub-spindle machines and can set-up and operate as requiredPerforms setups on multi-axis CNCs within established time standards
