Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly safety audits, inspections, and ensure follow-through on action items to improve workplace safety.
  • Lead training programs for new hires, transferred employees, and specialized departmental safety needs.
  • Oversee biohazard waste disposal, vehicle equipment safety programs, and emergency preparedness, including evacuation drills.
  • Collaborate with management to investigate accidents, analyze reports, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety records, update departmental safety rules, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Serve as a key advisor on safety standards, participating in the development of Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and safety projects.
  • Manage site safety programs, including contractor safety, emergency response, and incident investigations.

What you need for this position:

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing setting.
  • Broad knowledge of safety regulations, including California Code of Regulations Title 8 and 29 CFR.
  • Strong understanding of the Incident Command System and environmental regulations.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, with effective communication skills.
  • Valid California Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
  • Preferred certifications include ASP or CSP, with experience in ISO or OHSAS systems.
