2nd Shift Shipping Lead

Nesco Resource is currently sourcing for a Shipping Lead for a Design and Fabrication company in Madison Heights.

Help to coordinate / expedite signage/decor getting completed, staged and brought to the shipping dept. also packaging finished products.

Pay Rate: 18-20hr

Shift Ime: 2:30pm-1:30pm Monday- Friday (Some OT on Friday)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage shipping and receiving staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Coordinate the preparation and shipment of orders, ensuring timely delivery to customers.
• Oversee receiving processes, ensuring that all incoming goods are inspected, logged, and stored correctly.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory using ERP or WMS systems.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, including hazardous materials handling if applicable.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, quality control) to meet shipping deadlines.
• Optimize shipping processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Train and develop team members, providing guidance on best practices and safety protocols.
• Manage cycle counts and inventory reconciliation for the shipping and receiving department.
• Communicate with carriers to coordinate pick-ups and deliveries, resolving any issues that arise.
• Generate shipping documents, such as bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
• 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of shipping processes, including freight and parcel handling, export/import regulations, and domestic shipping standards.
• Proficiency with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
• Forklift certification is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime or flexible shifts as needed.
