Tool Room Machinist

Machine Toom Machinist

Pay: $22 - $30 Per hour
Shift: Monday-Friday 6am - 2:30pm

JOB SUMMARY

To make and repair cutting tools, gauges, jigs, fixtures, attachments, and holders having exacting tolerances and interrelated dimensions using a variety of machine tools and measurement devices

Tool Room Machinist responsibilities include with other duties may be assigned:

• Sets up and operates machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, saws, hones and drill presses, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate or repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinist hand tools applying knowledge of tool design, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout machining and assembly procedures.

• Machines tools and parts to specifications and fits and assembles parts into assemblies or mechanisms using hand tools.

• Coordinates work with production machine set-up personnel, engineering, tool supply and machine operators to install, debug, and ensure that the fabricated tools and parts conform to specification

• Supports management policies and procedures; cooperates with and supports other company employees; and works reliable and flexibly to meet departmental company and customer service needs and objectives including quality, service, and productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent

• 3-5 years of tool room experience is preferred

• Knowledge of wire EDM is a plus.

• Good written and verbal communication skills
