Location: Ridgeway, VAType of position: full time, 1st shiftProcurement SpecialistGENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY:As a Purchasing Specialist, you will work closely with the production team, taking charge of purchasing raw materials and parts essential for production. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective inventory management, and excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Additionally, you'll play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives across all purchasing and inventory processes.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Design, develop, and implement custom forms and workflows using SharePoint tools and technologies.Stay updated on SharePoint best practices and new features to continuously improve workflows.Create and manage a manual Kanban system using Excel to track project progress, tasks, and resource allocation.Generate manual reports to ensure system reporting accuracy and provide insights into project status and performance.Develop and implement demand planning strategies to forecast product needs accurately, optimizing inventory levels and ensuring timely fulfillment of customer orders.Upholds timely management of invoices, including uploading, coding and ensuring accurate documentation.Monitors order confirmations and tracking information to preemptively address any potential delays.Proactively manages an expedited list, tracking outstanding orders and unprocessed invoices to facilitate proper accruals for accounts payable.Ensures consistent and accurate part setup and management within the ERP system, maintaining precision in data entry and configuration for seamless operational processes.Purchases parts, equipment and materials by preparing requests for quotations and submitting purchase orders with approved suppliers.Initiates, develops and negotiates pricing agreements and manages the contracts.Builds strong relationships with vendors.Participates in the selection, development and assessment of reliable vendors.QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:University or College degree in Business, Economical, Finance (or related) field preferred.Two (2+) years experience in procurement role.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with the ability to quicky learn new systems.Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation.Understand of technical field is a plus.Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and documentation requirements is preferred.Requires regular sitting, reaching, walking, talking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and keyboarding.May occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.WE OFFER:
