Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Job Details

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for executing electrical system designs for a variety of building programs, working under the leadership of the MEP design team. This role involves collaborating with design, manufacturing, and construction teams to deliver smart, efficient electrical system designs for offsite fabricated projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and detail electrical systems that meet client requirements and support facility operations.
  • Collaborate with customers and partners to understand project goals, specifications, and operational environments, developing cost estimates and feasibility assessments for system designs.
  • Work with cross-disciplinary teams to optimize electrical system designs for performance, safety, and efficiency.
  • Perform analyses such as overcurrent protection coordination, arc flash hazard assessments, and energy performance evaluations to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Support projects through design for manufacturing, including modeling, selection of construction methods, testing, and system implementation.
  • Evaluate the cost, feasibility, and practicality of new electrical system designs.
  • Review design drawings and specifications to ensure quality and adherence to required regulations.
  • Assist in managing design modeling activities to meet project schedules.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing and construction teams to enhance the quality and efficiency of system implementation.
  • Collaborate with project leaders to coordinate design and manufacturing efforts throughout all project phases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
  • Proven experience in facility electrical engineering.
  • Strong familiarity with electrical system design standards and regulations (e.g., National Electrical Code, NFPA 99).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience designing electrical systems for healthcare facilities.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling programs, especially Revit, as well as AutoCAD and CADMEP.
  • Familiarity with electrical system analysis software such as EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM Dapper/Captor.
