Leads planning of complex and/or highly visible institutional events which may include lectures, summits, conferences, convenings, and provides support and counsel to other Jack D. Gordon Institute staff.Leads planning of complex and/or highly visible institutional events which may include lectures, summits, conferences, convenings, and provides support and counsel to other Jack D. Gordon Institute staff.Ensures that event vendors are registered to perform services to the University. Works with vendors to ensure that quotes are received in a timely manner for processing in accordance with FIU policies and procedures.Contracts and supervises the services of university and external vendors, as needed, for each event, locally and internationally. Enters vendor agreements, as needed, and ensures timely execution for assigned events.Processes invoices and ensures timely payment to registered event vendors.Carries out event logistics leading up to, day of event, and post event execution including setup and breakdown.Synchronizes with JGI Senior fellows to ensure maximum engagement with the institute.Serves as the University's credit card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University's credit card policies and procedures.Interprets administrative rules and policies relating to public functions or university events and recommends new and improved programs to effectively manage public functions or university events.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience; OR seven (7) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.Job Category
