Job Summary
Oversee and manage the day-to-day operation of a Consumer Marketing team. Develop and execute retail marketing strategies to achieve growth and long-term strategic positioning. Responsible for category and consumer understanding within the category, assessing the competitive landscape, and identifying product development opportunities.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Lead the innovation, development and launch plans for the product line, encompassing product, packaging, and communications all products within the line, consulting on brand communications strategy with internal creative services team.
Ensure Marketing teams are focused on identifying target customers and customizing marketing messages/media channels/strategies to maximize product/brand appeal.
Lead collaborative efforts with internal Sales, Divisions and Creative Services to define effective sales channels of all products.
Develop new product brand and PL launch plans. Explore new channels and markets.
Lead agency identification, propose marketing investment and manage internal and external teams through marketing plan development and execution.
Lead the process for the continuous evaluation of trends and adjust strategy to capitalize on shifts in the marketplace.
Including the process of obtaining and disseminating competitive intelligence across all markets and product lines.
Lead the marketing research initiatives, uncovering insights that lead to new products, product improvements, or enhanced communications strategies.
Develop and manage the marketing budget to identify areas of opportunity and growth.
Responsible (in collaboration with sales) for the development of the company’s revenue forecast
Work with digital team, creative services, external resources and brand marketing team to develop marketing tools and campaigns for selling across ecommerce and retail brick-and-mortar stores.
Review and approve materials related to market research, forecast, and pricing.
Manage cross-functional teams (internal and external packaging, product management) in the development and execution of initiatives to ensure proper and timely customer communication.
Facilitate relationship, training, and measurement of external sales force.
Management Responsibilities:
Typically, manages through multiple Managers. Provides leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability.
Portfolio management for growth and profitability.
Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department;
Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs;
Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develop;
Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies;
Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Experience:
At least 8 years of marketing, brand management or innovation experience to include at least 4 years developing and executing marketing plans.
At least 5 years of marketing experience in consumer marketing environment
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Marketing experience defining new go-to-market strategies, plan development, and experience in developing new markets/channels.
Experience leading analysis of business and market trends and pricing by channel.
Communications planning and implementation experience (including the ability to integrate and coordinate various elements into an actionable plan)
Experience and skills influencing, leading and directing individuals in multiple functional areas.
Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
Position requires travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
