Additionally, as the first and only kidney transplant program in the region, UPMC Hamot provides a patient-centered approach to care throughout the entire transplant process. UPMC Hamot works closely with the UPMC Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program of the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, therefore, patients who seek kidney transplantation services at UPMC Hamot can expect the same level of care offered by some of the leading transplant experts in the world.
