Summary:

CNC Machinist II-III will be responsible for the execution and support of all machining activities as they related to the production of products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Create CNC programs for new development projects, typically direct from a part drawingDevelop CNC programs to work with setup and fixtures for optimal quality and minimal timeSets up and operate a variety of machine tools such as HAAS Lathe and 3, 4 and 5 axis milling machining centers to make metallic and composite parts to exacting tolerances and dimensionsDownload and run CNC programs that are required to facilitate production of 3, 4 and 5 axis partsConduct machine set-ups installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vicesInterpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specificationsVerify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards and ensuring compliance to Engineering Drawings and CAD modelsUse a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instrumentsDetermine material, parts, and equipment requiredSet up and operate any type of precision machine tool to make original parts, tools, mechanisms, and devicesSolve problems relative to work-holding arrangement, unusual materials, machine settings and toolsMaintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsMaintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needsDocument actions by completing production work instructionsUpdate job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publicationsMinimum Qualifications:

US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card HolderHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 5 years experience of machine shop experience with conventional and CNCMinimum of 5 years experience creating CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5 axis machinesMinimum of 5 years experience of CNC programming supporting production of high volumeExperience working with a broad range of materials aluminum, steel, plastic, carbon, titaniumKnowledge on various precision CNC Machinery and principles, fabrication and machining practicesAbility to read and interpret drawings and blue printsAbility to use PME accurately (height gages, micrometers, calipers, etc..)Use of basic hand toolsStrong attention to detail and good verbal/written communication skillsProficient Microsoft Office skillsMust be able to read, write, and speak English.Preferred Qualifications:

Associates Degree in a mechanical or machining related curriculum4 years' additional education and CNC machine experienceAbility to lay out own workFamiliar with ASME Y14.5-2009, Dimensioning and Tolerancing specification.Proficiency with MasterCAM, CNC software.AutoDesk Inventor experience.Work with little supervision
