We are opening a brand-new-state-of-the-art health care facility in Alexandria, VA. Located in the Potomac Yard neighborhood is an outpatient facility that will include a full-service emergency room, ambulatory surgery, imaging services, primary care and other medical offices.To learn more about how Inova is expanding our seamless system of care in the Eastern Region of Northern Virginia, please visit 400 Fannon Street, Alexandria, VA 22301The Sonographer provides clinical services according to ultrasound practice standards and acts as a resource to students, residents, fellows, and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions. Administers sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies and procedures to ensure the safety of patients. Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. Demonstrates safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines. Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.Inova Benefits and Perks:- Sign On Bonus and Relocation Available, if applicable- Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage- Paid Parental Leave- Retirement matching: dollar for dollar the first 5% of your eligible pay that you contribute- Competitive salary- Paid Time Off: Accrue PTO hours on your very first day of work.Shift: Full TimeHours: Rotating Schedule:Week 1: Mon - Wed 7am - 7:30pmWeek 2: Thurs - Sat 7am - 7:30pmLocation: OakvilleJob Responsibilities- Demonstrates knowledge of proper sterile technique and isolation precautions as they pertain to the various specialty procedures.- Recognizes clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcomes.- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of intravenous (IV) heparin locks and central line usage as they pertain to Sonography.- Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and team members. Ensures that rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and have required supplies readily available for procedures. Troubleshoots equipment effectively and reports equipment to Biomedical Engineering/vendor. Performs/recognizes the need for routine maintenance of imagers/processors to maintain consistent quality images.- Operates imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturers' specifications. Provides clinical services according to specialized ultrasound practice standards and acts as a resource to students, nurses, fellows, and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.Requirements for Consideration:- Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. ARRT, ARDMS, RDMS or RVT registry eligible. Must be registry eligible and obtain certification within 18 months from date of hire.- Recent experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a sonographer or sonography student.- Basic Life Support CertificationInova Job ID #661423.
