TravelJob Description:-The Registered Radiologic Technologist is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility of patients for a designated time frame and to provide care, specifically in the Invasive Lab.-The patient population consists of those requiring an invasive cardiology or invasive radiology study.-The Registered Radiologic Technologist will assist the physician in all procedures and provide a valuable service to the patient and the team.Essential Functions:-Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.-Anticipates set-up and needs for invasive procedures.-Assists with inventory/supplies.-Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.-Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.-Administers medication in compliance with scope of practice.-Documents accurately and completely.-Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.-Performs all essential functions of the Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist.-Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.-Required to float to all procedural areas.-Maintains a clean and neat work area.-Demonstrates competence in the operation of imaging, physiological monitoring, and related equipment; Performs basic troubleshooting for this equipment.Department-Specific Job Functions:-Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.-Administers and with holds contrast and treatment as appropriate. -Assess patients for allergies.-Function as a scrub and monitor technician on a rotating basis during procedures. -Assists physician during interventional procedures.-Able to take call after 6 months of orientation.
Required Skills & Experience:-Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care and procedures.-Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately.-Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others.-Manual dexterity to handle small supplies.Preferred Skills & Experience:- 1 year as general radiographer.
Required Education:-Associate's Degree in Related Field OR -Certificate in Radiologic TechnologyRequired Certifications & Licensure:-BLS (American Heart Assoc.)-ACLS (American Heart Assoc.)-IEMA Radiography License Illinois-Radiography (R)(ARRT)Nurse Hustle Job ID #33389230.
