The ideal candidate for this position has fellowship training in advanced body MRI and is skilled in the interpretation of prostate and liver MRI. Call Coverage, 1:12 weeks. UC Irvine residents provide after-hours preliminary reads and pager coverage, and National Tele-radiology Program (NTP) covers after-hours final reads for emergent/ inpatient studies. The radiology attending is on back-up call. Body fellowship training with expertise in advanced body MRI. Board Eligible/ Board Certified with a current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any state or U.S. territory. U.S. Citizenship. Performance Pay: Receive up to $15,000 in additional annual performance pay. Proficiency Award: Eligible in addition to Pay for Performance. Regular Increases: Receive cost of living increases annually and salary reviews and longevity increase every two years. Annual Leave (Paid Time Off): You will receive 208 hours or approximately 26 days of annual leave a year. Paid time off, unlimited accumulation of paid sick time and 11 paid federal holidays will begin accruing upon entry. Paid Parental Leave: Up to 12 additional weeks per 12-month period. Liability Protection: VA physicians are covered under federal tort laws and may be defended by the United States against allegations of malpractice or negligence. Thrift Savings Plan (Federal 401k Equivalent) 5 % agency match: TSP lets you contribute up to $23,000 annual elective deferral to your account. Continuing education: As a VA physician, you can earn CME credits at no cost. You can receive $1,000 or more annually and five days of paid absences to attend CME courses (conditions apply). Credit for military service: Have you earned service credits from your time in military service? Don't worry - if you move to a federal job at VA, you may carry over service time that is added to your total years of work for retirement purposes.
