We’re seeking a California Conveyance Practice Leader to support delivering world-class water and wastewater conveyance and storage projects for our municipal, private, and agricultural clients in any of our California offices.
As a California Conveyance Practice Leader, you will work in collaboration with our California Water Market Growth Director and Water Market Director of Operations to develop and implement a conveyance growth strategy for California. This effort includes retaining and building a team of conveyance engineers and planners to deliver our clients’ most challenging projects and to foster the growth of our California conveyance team. You will also be responsible for understanding the unique trends in the market and using that knowledge to work with our team to create technical differentiation from that of our competitors while serving as an important conduit between our National Market Solution (technology) Leaders, California Sales Leaders, and Operations (delivery) leadership and practice staff in our Water Business Unit.
We’ll also rely on you to lead business development activities with key clients resulting in acquisition of new projects as well as perform the role of Project Manager supporting various projects and programs within a defined client portfolio. You’ll effectively lead and manage project teams throughout all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout; consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget, and other specified requirements stated in each contract.
Using your conveyance technical expertise, you’ll play an integral role in leading and mentoring staff, forming long-term relationships with clients and pursuing new work, including strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts. The salary range below reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all listed California locations.
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 15 years of experience related to water or wastewater industry in civil engineering role.
Licensed California Professional Engineer.
Demonstrated track record of delivering multiple conveyance related projects regarding water or wastewater.
Proven ability to manage and motivate a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to lead the design and preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, studies, proposals and/or reports.
Ideally, you'll also have:
A Master's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience serving various clients involving a wide variety of fields including conveyance pipeline design, project management, water/ wastewater pump station design.
A desire for both personal and team growth.
Ability to serve as the technical liaison/leader between the project towner and the design team.
Business development, interpersonal, and networking skills that can be combined with the significant resources that we have available across Jacobs to gain market share.
Experience supporting business development activities with local municipalities.
Comfortable working both collaboratively and independently.
