Senior Accountant (Contract-to-Hire) - Join a Mission-Driven Non-Profit Location: Florham Park, NJ Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (30-day conversion to full-time) Compensation: $40/hour (contract), $80K - $90K annually (permanent) About Vaco and Our Client: Vaco has partnered with a renowned non-profit organization to find a skilled Senior Accountant. Our client is dedicated to delivering vital services and advocating for community support. Job Summary: This Senior Accountant role is a critical position within a respected non-profit organization. The individual will play a key role in managing financial operations, particularly related to grant management, ensuring compliance, accurate budgeting, and reporting. By supporting the organization's mission, this role directly contributes to the financial health and operational success of the organization, making a positive impact on its ongoing community service initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Manage grant budgeting, monitoring, reporting, and compliance Ensure regulatory adherence and implement internal controls Maintain general ledger, journal entries, and fixed assets Perform monthly bank reconciliations and support month-end closing Prepare financial statements and assist with budgeting Collaborate with departments for financial planning and reporting Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5-7 years accounting experience, 3 years in grant management Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills Familiarity with financial software (preferred) Non-profit experience (preferred) Preferred Qualifications: CPA certification Non-profit accounting experience Hear from the Team: "This organization aligns with my values and provides a supportive environment for career growth.
