Shifts: 7-7 shiftsFloor specific orientation: 2 shiftsWeekend Requirement: 1 weekend out of 3 weekendsPerm staff does self-scheduling. Travelers will be scheduled where they are needed.Unit Specific Information
Unit: 6 HLT - Cardiac Tele Post-Intervention Unit# beds: 18 BedsRatios: NP Ratio 3:1Nurse Aides: Yes - 2 if full at 18 patientsCharge Nurse: Yes - Takes patients if the needs of the unit require thisTele: Yes - Nurses required to interpret teleVents: BiPAPIV Team: SWAT RN available for difficult IV sticksRT 24/7: YesPharmacy 24/7: YesFloating: Yes - To other Tele/MedSurg units as neededCommon diagnosis / Types of patients: All post cath lab/interventional procedure patients, CP, ACS (Acute Coronary Syndrome), & CHF. They do pull sheaths but travelers do not need to.Additional Details
Candidate is required to pass DYS exam PRIOR to acceptingSIMs Lab is pass/fail & nurses have been termed during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile fieldHospital expects every nurse to be competent in maintaining sterile fieldSIMs lab skills checklist is available if traveler asks for additional detailsEducation on lifts, restraints, & wound care are provided since equipment & policies can differ
