Technical ManagerSinging River Health System Hospital - Pascagoula | Full-Time | Days |MississippiUnited StatesPosition OverviewThe Technical Manager oversees the activities of the technical staff and assists the Directory of Technology and Security as needed. He/She ensures customer service issues are addressed promptly and monitors customer service satisfaction. The Manager assists in developing procedures and processes.EducationAssociate's degree in Information Technology or related field required. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field preferred. Applicable work experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.LicenseN/ACertificationCurrent certification(s) required at (or within the 90 days of) job start (must complete required continuing education). Qualifying certifications include VMware, Linux, Citrix or Microsoft systems administrator certificates.ExperienceA minimum of three (3) years IT experience required; healthcare IT experience preferred. Customer service experience required. A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience is preferred.Windows server administration experience preferred. Experience programming or scripting with HTML, ASP, VBScript, Javascript, XML and CSS preferred. Must have knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, VPN, LAN/WAN topologies, and Wireless technologies. SAN experience and Virtualization experience preferred.Physical DemandsWork is mainly sedentary: involves sitting most of the time with regular requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Work involves exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves using repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, copier, and 10-key.Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; the ability to make fine discriminations in sound. Work requires close visual acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision.Mental DemandsMust maintain a current working knowledge of hospital/clinical workflow and operations; and a working knowledge of medical terminology.Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities. Must demonstrate communication / speaking / enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels. Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Special DemandsWork requires the ability to function independently, adapt to workload demands, set priorities, understand and set goals. Must demonstrate excellent oral communication skills. Work requires the ability to create and maintain a collaborative work environment. Work requires traveling throughout the SRHS service area with the employee providing his/her own transportation; valid driver license required. Out-of-state travel for education purposes is required. Moderate to advanced knowledge and skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.Must have advanced knowledge of the electronic health record, health information management systems, and other healthcare applications.
