General purpose:
The Maryland College Institute of Art is seeking a Full-time shuttle driver. The Shuttle Driver position is a key position within MICA and requires the ability to provide safe transportation service to the MICA community. The successful candidate will have a high level of daily interaction with MICA's diverse population and will report directly to the Manager of Transportation & Operation Services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive vehicles to transport students between the college, neighborhoods and college activitiesComply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous mannerRead maps, and follow written and/or verbal geographic instructionsReport delays, accidents or traffic and transportation situations using telephones or mobile two-way radiosReport any vehicle malfunctions, damage and maintenance neededAssist with Shopping Shuttle one to two days a weekAssist with academic/special event trips (various times/days)Service vehicles for fuel when neededPerform light maintenance duties for vehiclesOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalentStable work or education history with excellent attendance recordMaintain a valid Maryland Driver's License.Ability to perform basic math as well as read, write, and speak English to understand and communicate written/verbal instructionsAbility to work in various climatic conditionsAbility to communicate effectively with the supervisor and co-workersAbility to work well with others in a team-oriented environmentAbility to work with diverse populationsSuperior interpersonal and positive customer service skillsValued, but not required qualifications:
Maryland CDL license1-3 years of related experiencePrior experience working on a college campusCustomer service experienceConditions of Employment:
