ABOUT THE JOBThe AdolescentConsultant will function in an ACS borough office as the lead clinical consultant on mental health issues impacting families known to child welfare. Providing case-specific consultations may involve direct contact with clients, providing for a more informed consultation service. Other specific responsibilities include but, are not limited to:
Provide case-specific consultations to ACS, Preventive Services and Foster Care staff regarding Adolescent Mental Health issuesProvide training to ACS staff in adolescent behavioral assessment, , diagnosis and service planningComplete required documentation of clinical consults, using ACS templates, within the requisite time framesVisit external resource linkages to ensure they are child welfare friendly and appropriate for families with adolescentsParticipate in ERC, FTM, or other conferences as assigned in the borough offices, CBO, or home as needed
QUALIFICATIONSThe Jewish Board is currently looking for talented Consultants of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:
Master in Social Work, LMSW/LCSWor Masters in Psychology with 2-4 years in the mental health fieldStrong knowledge of mental health and related issues, with expertise in identifying and accessing high needs mental health services for older adolescentsKnowledge of the child welfare system preferredDomestic violence and/or substance knowledge helpfulWillingness to work the New York City Holiday schedule
