The anticipated salary range for this role is between $85,000.00 and $100,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

The Fund Finance Portfolio Management Analyst position falls within the Portfolio Management and Agency team in the Bank's Fund Finance Solutions Department ("FFSD"). The primary role will be as a Power User for a new software that is being onboarded to develop best in class reporting capabilities related to the tracking, monitoring, and analyzing of collateral values for FFSD's global fund finance portfolio. As a Power User, you will become a subject matter expert for everything related to the database including its rollout, enhancements, and ensuring data is updated in a timely and accurate manner. Secondary duties relate to broader portfolio management responsibilities including, but not limited to: exposure tracking, adherence to risk thresholds, profitability tracking and forecasting, and the preparation of presentations for key internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

In addition to developing a strong technical knowledge base around data management, you will develop a deep understanding of multiple fund finance products, centered around the core subscription finance offering. You'll also learn portfolio management/banking best practices and industry trends/developments from a market leading team in the Fund Finance lending sector.

The ideal candidate would have a genuine interest in developing a career in banking with a focus/ inclination towards data management using Excel and low code databases. The candidate should have an innate desire to find ways to complete work and establish processes in a more efficient and reliable manner. The candidate would be keen to join a highly competitive, market leading team within one of the fastest growing areas of finance.

Role Objectives

Create insights from the proprietary data obtained from FFSD's access to the composition of capital commitments to the largest private equity funds in the worldDevelop standardized excel templates using INDEX(MATCH()) and other formulas that will be fed into the reporting database and materially boost update efficiencyResponsible for the routine and ad hoc updates of deal and collateral values in the databaseAssist with the downstream reporting and data analysisHelp build out and establish policies, procedures, and user guides related to the new reporting databaseContribute substantially to planning functions including determining profitability, projecting budget, extrapolating and stress testing funding scenarios, and global pipeline managementReconcile conflicting workbooks/data sets and remedy the root causeMonitor and provide reporting on the portfolio-level regarding risk frameworks, exposure management, and other KPIs and limitsPrepare internal and external presentations for senior stakeholders and regulatory bodiesQualifications and Skills

Experience/Knowledge RequirementsBachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, computer science, or related fieldKnowledge of basic corporate finance and accounting, and ability to learn financial analysisFamiliarity with corporate banking, bank regulations, risk and compliance factors and regulatory matters a plusRequired Skills/Abilities
