This is a job for a Designer - Welding with a company located in the Pascagoula, MS area.
Job Summary: A welding designer at Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding (BMS) utilizes their knowledge and experience to review, modify, and design welds to facilitate high-quality construction of modern ships for the United States Coast Guard, Navy, and other government and commercial customers. Utilizes the latest computer-aided design tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Ship Constructor. Gathers information, calculates and checks welding sizes, and adds welding callouts to production drawings. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, production, and planning groups to ensure a highly producible design.
Responsibilities: Calculate and check welding sizes for production drawings. Add welding callouts to production drawings. Coordinate with other sections when appropriate. Ensure BMS Computer Automated Design (CAD) standards are followed. Ensure work meets the requirements of applicable regulatory bodies and job specifications.
Qualifications: Completion of two years of college-level coursework equivalent to an AA degree in technology or equivalent field experience. Experience with Ship Constructor. Experience with Navisworks. Field welding experience. Production experience.
