Job Description (meant to be a description of basic job tasks, not all inclusive)Pouring:Proper weight & clamp placement per size of mold before pouringProper inspection of sprue & risers to be correct and any debris removedRead master for requirements and special instructionsProper pouring technique (even stream, pour box full, proper height of riser)Proper gas removal technique as pouringPlacement of hot topping and heat tags after pourRemoval of clamps & weights when coolLadle Repair:Place ladles on preheater and safely lightKnock out, replace, or repair lining in ladles (including safety liner)Make ceramic pot for hand shankFurnace Helper:Use heat log as reference to weigh raw materials, revert & deoxidizers to correct weight (additions included)Deliver correct charges to correct deck in order of planned poursPerform Cycle countsMelt Scheduler:Set up and organize molds for desired alloy and quantity to be pouredStamp heat tags with heat number of heat to be pouredRecord correct data of what was poured on each heat including pouring temps, test material, serial numbers, samplesMaintain Heat Identification log, ladle log & test bar logMelting:Confirm charge materials against heat logMelt heats of metal per Melting Induction Furnace SOP ME2.0 & alloy procedure for that alloyMaintain Induction Furnace logPatch furnace lining as neededKnock out & reline wet ram & dry vibe furnacesPatch furnace coilMaintain furnace installation reportsReplace argon lines as neededGeneral:Melt per specific procedures following safe work practices and bringing up quality issues as they ariseMaintain proper housekeeping for work areaOther duties as assigned by supervisorRequirementsEducation: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.Skills:

Requires the use of basic arithmetic functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing along with reading and understanding shop paperwork.Abilities:

Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.Working conditions:
