Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for oversight and direction of the night shift in Behavioral Health inpatient units at New Point Campus. The Child inpatient unit is a 40-bed unit consisting of both crisis, intermediate, and DD bed availability. The experienced nurse, along with a multidisciplinary team, collaborates on treatment goals that will be implemented to help treat patients with psychiatric and/or behavioral issues.

Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited school or universityMinimum of 5 years experience in Behavioral Health NursingAcute care setting experienceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsOrganizational ability, nurse management and leadership skillsDemonstrated clinical expertise in standard areaProficient computer skillsSuccessful completion of all Orientation Programs

Preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferredMed./Surg. Telemetry and/or ER nursing experiencePsychiatric-Mental Health

certifications and/or national nursing certifications

Certifications And Licenses Required

Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New JerseyBasic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Essential Functions

The Trinitas Department of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry, part of Trinitas Regional Medical Center and an RWJBarnabas Health facility, offers comprehensive treatments for daily stress, aging challenges, child development, and chemical dependency alternatives. With specialized care for adults, children, adolescents, and families, including provisions for mentally ill/developmentally-disabled individuals in a 98-bed inpatient facility, we serve individuals from Union County and across New Jersey. Providing over 200,000 outpatient visits annually, our services range from Mobile Crisis Units to Inpatient and Outpatient care, staffed by a diverse, multidisciplinary team of practitioners, including bilingual staff. Renowned for excellence and innovation, we lead in areas such as inpatient psychiatric care for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, and trauma-focused residential programs for adolescent girls, making us one of New Jersey s premier hospital-based Behavioral Health providers.
