We're inviting an enthusiastic and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at Western Mass Periodontics on a temporary or permanent basis. This position offers the opportunity to work in two of our well-regarded locations in Great Barrington and Pittsfield, MA. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute significantly to patient care in a specialized periodontic setting, educating, and providing top-notch treatment, and assisting with diagnostic and preventive care. Your Role & Responsibilities:Welcome and seat patients cheerfullyPrepare and set up treatment rooms for hygiene proceduresUpdate patients' health history and provide oral hygiene educationPerform scaling, root planing, and fluoride applicationIdentify periodontal and restorative issues; facilitate dentist's treatment recommendationsConduct head, neck, and oral cancer examsEducate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive measuresSchedule appropriate follow-up appointmentsMaintain a clean and organized dental labAdhere to safety and OSHA guidelines as well as office standardsNot responsible for capturing and interpreting x-rays
Requirements:Associate degree or higher from an ADA-accredited dental hygiene programMA state dental hygiene licenseCPR certification1-year dental experience, preferredCertification in anesthesia, preferredProficiency with scaling and root planing (SRP), preferred
