Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT Job Specialty: Pediatrics Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Must have RRT for this request. Also looking for PEDS experience. Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred License: Licensed by the approved Medical Licensure and Supervision Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Certifications: - Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care - Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (American Heart Association) within 3 months of hire Must-Have: - RRT certification - Pediatric experience Job Description: - Provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels and in all areas served by the department. - Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by the attending medical staff. - Record treatment information and patient treatment response in their computerized medical record. - Act as a resource person to medical staff. - Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients. - Provide age-appropriate care to patients. - Ensure that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained. - Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records. - Perform as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests. - General responsibilities as assigned in the department. Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment. - Clinical decision-making skills appropriate to patient care as it relates to the pulmonary and cardiac system and to the age of the patient. - Ability to interpret appropriate information to identify patient needs. - Ability to work under stress. - Strong interpersonal skills. - Ability to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff. - Some computer skills are needed. Education: Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program Special Requirement: If hired without current registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care, the individual must receive at a minimum the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential within 90 days of hire.
