**Must-Have:**- Willingness to accept first-time travelers- Experience with IV Start and Telemetry, cardiac procedures, and drips- Comfortable with 1:5-6 patient ratios- Ability to float and work every other weekend- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
**Job Description:**- Primary care for cardiac and stroke patients, including pre/post procedures such as pacemaker implantation, defibrillator implantation, and cardiac catheterization- Management of patients on non-rebreather masks with stable O2 saturation- Handle cases of unstable angina, low-risk chest pain, CHF, dysrhythmias, all new CVA, TIA patients- Responsible for running multiple drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, Amiodarone, etc.- Experience in a fast-paced unit; expected to turnover 78 to 90 patients weekly- Special procedures and equipment include telemetry, pulse ox, high flow O2, non-rebreather masks, and Bipap- Documentation and communication using Pyxis, Dimensions (EPIC), and SBAR- Self-scheduling with leadership oversight for balance- 36 hours of unit orientation required, 8 hours of hospital orientation- Required to comply with certain blackout periods for RTO and holiday work requirements
Please note that COVID-19 vaccination is not required, but the flu vaccine is mandated with exemptions for medical or religious reasons only. Nurses must adhere to the scrub color requirements and follow the fatigue policy, limiting work to no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week. Module completion prior to start is mandatory.
