Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 18 months required, with exceptions possible depending on the unit License: For start dates 2-4 weeks out, must have Indiana or compact license in hand. For start dates 4 weeks out, must have started the Indiana/compact licensing process. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and RRT Must-Have: - Experience in ER, Adult Critical Care - Skills in extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal/suctioning, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy suctioning - Knowledge of managing ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID-19, fresh tracheostomy, pneumonia - Proficiency in using Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, inhaled steroids - Ability to perform arterial punctures, BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshoot high-pressure alarms, wean from mechanical ventilation - Ability to interpret ABGs and draw arterial blood gases Job Description: - Assist with bronchoscopies and perform endotracheal intubation. - Work with specialized equipment, including nitric oxide, high-frequency jet ventilation, and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation. - Manage patients with general respiratory therapy needs, focusing on ventilators and non-invasive ventilation using Philips V60 and Hamilton platforms. - Provide patient care for diagnoses such as ARDS, pneumonia, and COVID-19, with treatments including the administration of inhaled medications and mechanical ventilation adjustments. - Float within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals as needed. - Meet compliance with vaccination requirements; flu vaccine required unless exempt for medical or religious reasons. - Adhere to submission and compliance guidelines, including license and certification verifications.
